Another LoadMatic project in the chemical industry

Actiw LoadMatic has been awarded another project in the battery chemical industry with an order for two LoadMatic systems with integrated bag handling and infeed solutions for Prony Resources New Caledonia.

The systems will allow for rapid, one-shot loading (less than 7 minutes), immediately after the trailers arrive at the site. The fully automated loading solution effectively replaces the work of five or more standard docks, which would require multiple forklifts and operators.

The unique capability of the Actiw LoadMatic allows for significantly reduced loading times, improved volume fill levels, reduced energy consumption and significantly reduced CO2 emissions compared to traditional manual forklift loading operations. Personnel safety is significantly improved as no operators are required to repeatedly enter and stack the 1 tonne bags into containers.

The end customer, Prony Resources, has completed the acquisition of Vale Canada’s Nouvelle-Calédonie S.A.S. (VNC) nickel and cobalt operation at Goro in southern New Caledonia. Prony Resources is owned by New Caledonia entities together with international commodities trader Trafigura. Prony Resources said it was targeting 45,000 tonnes of nickel production in 2024.

This new order for Prony resources follows on from a previous Actiw LoadMatic installation recently completed for a similar operation in northern Europe.

The Actiw LoadMatic lines shipped from Europe in late 2022, with installation commencing early ‘23.
